I'm so excited about this new kokeshi series.... The Villains!  First in the collection is Maleficent of Sleeping Beauty.  Each doll will be signed, date and numbered.

Boy or Girl?

Friday I went for my 20 week ultra sound.  My husband and Mom ( here from Florida for 2 weeks )  came with me.  I can tell from my husbands pacing that he will be a clam nervous wreck during delivery (if that makes sense)

Everything went perfectly.  Baby is healthy, has all it's fingers and toes!  At first baby was hiding only kicking a leg or arm here or there but at the same time baby is very active.  At one point the tech was trying to get a photo/measurement of the baby's left hand.  She innocently said I can't find the left hand which sent my husband into panic mode.  It was there just hiding.

After all the measuring and testing came the moment of truth boy or girl?  We'll baby decide to play a game and stick it's arm between it's legs!  "Ha Ha Mom and Dad" "Guess what I am!"  The tech was able to get the baby to move it's arm.... drum role.........

Emily Agnes will be joining us in November.

We can't wait.  My husband was ecstatic. Secretly hoping for a girl.  Actually the whole family my side and his wanted a girl.  We are blessed.  Now it's time to starting decorating the nursery!

It's Here!!!!!

My sewing machine finally arrived!  I'm so excited to start learning.  I haven't taken it out of the box yet.  It has a CD that I have to watch and of course a booklet to read.  I've already started creating softie patterns.  I can wait to make them come alive.  If you can believe it I'm a little nervous to crack the box open.

My mom finally arrived from Florida!  We've been having fun just talking and catching up.  Tomorrow we are off to the outlets to try to find me some clothes that fit with my growing belly.  All of the sudden I just popped! 

Friday it's off to the doctor for a sonogram we're crossing fingers they can tell us the gender.  If that happens my husband is ready to go on a shopping spree.  I'll have to keep him in check LOL.

In the middle of all the wedding customs on my schedule I whipped up a kokeshi tribute to Frida Kahlo
I admire her and her work and just had to make her in wood form.  She's available here  She measures just under 3"H

I love them all.  I had a suggestion from a client to do various sizes of Frida.  Great idea so now I'm working on a larger version and a mini version.

Sewing Machine

I did it!  I finally purchased my first sewing machine.  Ok that's a lie.  When I was in high school my mom bought me a brother sewing machine but I never followed through with learning.  My mom is a great sewer and ended up taking it over.  She still has it to this day.

I decided on this bad boy.  I didn't do a ton of research but it got great reviews from other customers who purchased it.  It was also top on the consumers digest best buy.  BONUS I had a 100 sears gift card to put towards it!  I think it will be a great learning machine. I already have a few ideas of things I want to make.  Of course i'll share here.

The best part is I should have it in my hands by the time my mom comes up from Florida this month.  My local Sears store didn't have it in stock so I have to wait for it to ship to me.  I want her to show me a few things.  This time I'll pay attention and have interest!

No big plans for the weekend.  Hoping to get a jump on current orders.
