Thinking of Fall

It's right around the corner, Yay!  I love the cool crisp air, smell of burning leaves and the beautiful colors the leaves turn.

I'm wrapping up the last of my customs in the next 2 weeks I can't believe it.  Soon miss Emily will be here.  Still no nursery progress btw.  In between orders I'm trying to start my stock for the holidays.  I painted this new design perfect for a fall/halloween themed party or wedding or just to display with this years holiday decor.

A tribute to Tim Burtons Corpse Bride.  An exclusive a Knottingwood ready to ship!  I actually made 2 sets.  I also have some new hair clips in the shop.  Really cute for back to school or stocking stuffers.  I'm thinking of pairing them as a gift set with a peg doll pendant.

Corpse Bride $45.00

Hair clips set of 2 $7.50

Kokeshi Peg Custom recently finished.  Full customs Kokeshi couples will resume Dec 1, 2012

A Little Rag Doll in wood

Popping in to say hello and show off my latest kokeshi doll.  Little Miss Raggedy Ann.  Isn't she adorable?

Sit her on a shelf or if you like a hook can be added to her head and she can hang on your holiday tree!

Last day for Custom Orders

Today will be the last day to get  your custom orders in.  With my due date quickly approaching, a growing belly, lots of orders to finish and a laundry list of things to do for the baby (Nursery isn't even started!) I moved the date from 9-1 to today.

I just have too much on my plate to get complete in 2 short months.  The shop will remain open but only for semi custom, ready to ship, DIY and character dolls.

Keep following to see my progress on the nursery and shop updates.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Inventory Reduction!

I have a ton of wood items in excess that I know I'm not going to use since I am simplifying doll line.  In the next few weeks I will be listing many unfinished wood items to DIY.

This is a great way to try out your artistic skills or a fun afternoon activity for your budding child artist.

Now in the Shop are my large and small Kokeshi dolls.  These will be available until they are gone, gone, gone!

I also wanted to share a whole sale order of mini bride and grooms on their way to a bakery in France!

Here Come the Holidays....

Ok a little early but I'm starting to get my Holiday ideas/stock ready.  I only have 2 more months till little miss E arrives.

Today I finished a Cinderella Kokeshi Ornament and as set of Thankful Pilgrims.  Both are in the Shop ready to ship.  I'm just about done with custom wedding orders.  September will be dedicated to working on stock so it's full and ready while I take a few weeks after giving birth.

Let me show you these cuties.....

I think Cinderella needs her Evil Step Sisters.....

I also have some new products I want to work out.  I want to have some ready for the Holiday rush but I may wait to debut them until 2013.  I've also be re-thinking my peg dolls.  There are so many sellers now offering them I want to try to pull my self from the masses.  From all the sellers replicating my style.  I'm thinking of retiring the Original Peg dolls and sticking to the Kokeshi style dolls. I just really love their innocent simple style.  This decision is also based on my where I get my peg dolls from.  It's a hit or miss with the quality of the dolls.  Lately they have reverted back to the old way they made them but I can't be guaranteed I'll get those every time I order.  The kokeshi are more consistent.  Stock will be easier for me.  I won't have to order so many different styles.  I also think it will make the shop more cohesive.

We'll I'm off to finish watching North by Northwest.  Have you seen it?  It's a classic.  I swoon over Cary Grant!

The Bow Tie

I finally finished my bow tie prototype.  I pretty happy with  how it turned out.  It only needs a little tweaking as far as how to attach it to a collar.  I made a small loop out of fabric with velcro on each end but it it tedious to do.  I think I'm going to try sewing little elastic hoops on each end of the bow tie then you can just slip the collar through.

Here is Miss Zoey as my model.  Poor girl she doesn't wear a collar.  I use a harness when walking her outside.  She had now clue what was round her neck.  So cute don't you think?

It can be used as a bow too!

Hopefully this weekend I can make a few more.  I want to have some in the shop by fall.  All  ready to ship items.  I also have an idea to use this bow on headbands for girls.   Flowers for collars or headbands will be coming too.  Oh so many ideas, I have some really great ideas for Holiday gifts.

With only 2 1/2 months left till Miss Emily comes I need to start working my butt off.  I still have customs to finish plus get stock going for the shop PLUS get the nursery started.  Ugh !

Happy Wed!

Plush update

Happy Saturday.  I was busy sewing last night while watching the NY Jets pre-season game.
Meet Simon the proper little bear and Finnegan, Fionna's little brother.  He has a thing for mustaches.  Not sure if it will stay the jury is out on that one.   Both Simon and Finnegan are made of light weight corduroy.

I'm already possibly re-designing Simon.  I think he's too skinny.  I might chub him up at bit.  Not sure though.  I'll be added all 3 to the shop this weekend as a pre-launch sale.  They will be available at a discount before the line is officially available.   I won't be taking orders on the plush.  I've decided to make them and list them type of item.  So if it's in the shop it will be ready to ship in approx 24-48 hours of purchase.  I'll announce shop updates of my plush here, on twitter and Facebook.

Now I have to work on doll versions of my popular kokeshi characters i.e....Disney Princesses, Red Ridding hood,  Alice in Wonderland, Leia and Han Solo ect..

Now to introduce you to Simon and Finnegan......

I'd love to know what you think of them!

Enjoy the weekend.

Shop Re-vamp & Custom Schedual

With Sept creeping up I thought I would post a reminder that I will stop accepting customs on Sept 1, 2012 to start prepping for Miss Emily to arrive.  I have a ton of things still to do #1 is move my office to the guest bedroom so I can start painting and decorating the nursery.

My store will remain open Sept 1 but I will not take any more customs.  The shop will be stocked with ready to ship items (which I have to start ) and semi - custom cake toppers.  There will be lots of Kokeshi dolls/ornaments ready for the holiday season.  I also have some new items that are non wood which I can't wait to share.  Join me on my Facebook page and twitter.  I post sneak peaks there first!

The shop will close for 2 weeks after I give birth then re-open for the holiday season.  Deadlines for holiday items will be as follows:

U.S orders must be received by Dec 1, 2012
INTL orders must be received by Nov 26, 2012

Customs will resume on Jan 1, 2013 however I will only be accepting 5-7 customs per month.  Those listing will be available the first of every month,  once they're gone new listings will not be available until the first of the next month.  It will be a sort of shop update so be sure to follow me on twitter and Facebook.  I will notify followers the day before they go up.

Hope that makes sense LOL.  Oh and here is a new little cutie I listed in the shop this week.  Miss Abigal the witch.  I just love her!  Check out her spider headband...

Custom fun

Happy Saturday!  It's been terribly hot here in Jersey.  I'm done will summer sad to say.  Ready to enjoy the crisp air of Fall.  Plus I'll be closer to meeting my little girl.

I wanted to pop in and share a custom I worked on today.  I'm really loving these kokeshi style dolls.  It's making me consider phasing out some styles of dolls in my shop.  I actually have a shop revamp I will be doing right before little miss E comes along.  New stuff coming stay tuned!....

Right let me get back to the custom!  I was commissioned to do a Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany's and a Jeremy Lin former NY Knick.  I think they came out awesome and have offered them in the Shop

How adorable are they!

Are you watching the Olympics!  I am.  Absolutely love it.  So exciting.

GO USA!
